The 2026 FIFA World Cup is officially starting very soon! Everyone is excited all over the world and the spotlight is on the United States, Mexico, and Canada. One of the hosts cities is Los Angeles where the games will be played in SoFi Stadium here in inglewood, also being referred to by FIFA as Los Angeles Stadium! Los Angeles Stadium will be the stadium for the USA Vs. Paraguay, Iran Vs. New Zealand, Switzerland Vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium Vs. Iran, Türkiye Vs. USA games as well as the Round of 32 teams 2A and 2B teams, 1H and 2J teams, and in the Quarterfinals, the W93 and W94 teams.
Where to watch the World Cup
Mom Said Yes Pizza in the city of Torrance will have every single World Cup game for you to view! The city of Hawthorne is also hosting their own watch party on 06/13/2026 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM for both the Qatar Vs. Switzerland game and Morocco Vs. Brazil games! There will be soccer clinics, food, jumpers, and Futsal open to all ages! I definitely recommend checking that out! Click here to see more on that.
Predictions for finalists in the World Cup
While the final match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be played in MetLife Stadium, or currently New York/New Jersey Stadium, it is still exciting to have the teams we want to win, and teams we predict will actually win it all. I am not too sure who is going to win it all. Being of Mexican decent, I would love to see the Mexican National Football Team advance pretty far in this world cup. However, Ryan O'Hanlon from ESPN seems to predict that Mexico will only get to the round of 32 to face off England, where he gives England a better chance of advancing with a 40% chance of advancing compared to Mexico’s 36% chance of advancing. His final prediction for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals is Spain Vs. Argentina with Spain having a 24% chance of winning and Argentina having a 17% chance of winning. Final predicted score? Spain 2, Argentina 1. That’s too bad for Messi.
What does this all mean for Los Angeles & the South Bay?
When a lot of outsiders think of Los Angeles, they think of sunny beaches with palm trees. So in reality, they are thinking of Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach. All of that will bring visitors towards those areas. Visitors renting cars will mean there is more traffic on the road. Others will be using public transportation and LA Metro Buses and Trains are probably going to be more full than usual. However I believe Los Angeles won’t be too badly impacted. But we will just have to wait and see.
Well that is it for now. I appreciate you for reading until the end! Good bye far now!
